Visit the library with Lesestart Kangaroo and immerse yourself in five exciting book worlds.

Lesestart is a program carried out by the Stiftung Lesen on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, aiming to spark children's interest in reading.

• The little Kangaroo wants to borrow new books from the library, but a whirlwind causes chaos in its favorite books. Dive into five different Lesestart stories with the Kangaroo and help restore order. Read by yourself, have stories read to you, act out the stories alone or together with your parents or siblings.

This app offers:

• Interactive games and reading fun related to Germany's largest early literacy program "Lesestart - Three Milestones for Reading."
• 5 exciting stories to interact with
• Reading options: "Read Alone" and "Read Together"
• Read-aloud function that can be turned on or off
• Speech bubbles that can be shown or hidden
• 20 mini-games within the stories
• 5 jump & run skill games
• Lovingly animated characters

The Lesestart app complements the Lesestart thematic world and makes self-reading enjoyable for young children. The reading experience is enriched with numerous mini-games and characters for story reenactment. Parents also have plenty of opportunities for reading aloud and participating in the app.

"Lesestart - Three Milestones for Reading" is a nationwide literacy program that accompanies families with young children from the very beginning until their school entry, consisting of three consecutive phases.

Funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and conducted by Stiftung Lesen, the core of the initiative is the free Lesestart sets containing an age-appropriate book and a guide with tips and information on reading and storytelling in family life.
